My goal was to tackle the stagnation in education by engaging students through esports while integrating learning and career exploration. "I have known Terry for 25 years and cannot recommend her highly enough. I met Terry when I was serving as the Volunteer Chairman of the Lebanon County Relay for Life (RFL). Our Committee had managed to put together our first event the year prior to my meeting her, with little to no involvement from the staff of the American Cancer Society (ACS). The following year Terry was assigned as the staff member to work with us. I was very skeptical about working with her. She was new to the ACS and had worked with a much larger and wealthier community in planning this same event. However, she immediately proved me wrong. She worked with me and our small committee and helped us to think bigger, to reach out to community business leaders, government officials and School Districts in the county to work with us. She had a natural ability to motivate and engage others. Her ability to coach others to formulate plans and solve problems was effective and readily accepted. We worked side by side and soon our event grew beyond our goals and became one of the leading RFL Events in Pennsylvania.
During this time Terry and I became friends. But more than that, I often turned to her to bounce off ideas to assist me with my professional position. "I have known Terry for more than 20 years, first in my capacity as one of her major professors at Elizabethtown College, where I saw tremendous talent and potential in her as a student.
